Travel to Southern Italy in 2016
It’s a new year, which brings along new resolutions and new beginnings. So, why not a new travel destination?
We are seeing more and more people choosing to venture to “new” territories. This month, Rough Guides released their“Top 10 Regions: The Best Places to Visit in 2016” and guess who made the list? Oh yea – it was Calabria! Hurray!
One of the things that really caught our attention was that they mentioned Calabria offers travelers “another side of Italy.” We love this idea, and here’s why…
Italy is a very popular tourist destination, and that shouldn’t come as a surprise given its long list of World Heritage Sites, delicious food and a long-standing reputation for its colorful folks. Often, Italy is defined by the ancient Colosseum, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the gondolas of Venice. And, we agree, all these things are an integral part of what makes Italy so fabulous. But, Italy is alsothe enchanting Trulli houses in Alberobello, the magnificent Mount Etna volcano, and the impressive southern Italian coastlines.
Maybe you have been to Italy in the past and want to explore some new regions, or perhaps you are the type of person who would prefer to take the road less traveled. Regardless of your reasons for coming to Italy, we are confident that planning to spend some time in the south, will surely give you a more complete Italian experience.
Not sure how you can incorporate southern Italy into your travel plans? We’ve got you covered! Check out some of our complete Vacation Packages or contact us directly for more information on tailor-made vacations that fit your travel needs and budget.

Thanks for sharing all of these great little tips! It is good to know where to go for food when you want to have that real, authentic Italian experience. I’ll be sure to know where certain dishes originated, and then get that food in those places. If I am going to be experiencing Italy, I want to be sure I experience it in the best way possible.Best cities to visit in Italy
